Writers journey:Self-taught and passionate about books, after years in a rural environment between the Koranic school of the village, the initiation to breeding and agriculture and especially to the art of storytelling and orality in the pure African tradition , he returned to Ouagadougou in 2001 for a professional life in the book business. He opened a modest bookstore-library for the sale and exchange of books. It is from this experience that the young bookseller trains himself on the job in contact with his books. His passage in the traditional village school of rites and teachings was a great advantage for his literary training. Initiated to writing techniques through his meetings with Burkinabé writers such as Maitre PacéréTitinga and Ansomwin Ignace Hien, in 2005 he met Marie-France Morin, a Franco-Italian translator passionate about African literature. With his support and supervision on editorial technique, Ousseni Nikiéma entered the literary and artistic world of Burkina Faso on November 28, 2009 on the occasion of the Ouagadougou international book fair by presenting his first book Les Contes de Dunia was published by Éditions le LIS. Preparing his second book, he met one of the theater pioneers in Burkina Faso, Prosper Kompaoré, director of the Atelier Théâtre Burkinabé (ATB). This collaboration will give him an academic training and bases in theatrical writing.In 2011 he published his first theatrical piece, L’Honneur du Buudu, with Éditions Découverte du Burkina. Today the writer is the author of several books.. Writer-storyteller and co-founder of the Burkina Lecture association and the festival of the same name, since 2012 he has regularly intervened in schools in Burkina Faso to promote reading and civic behavior in schools through the message of storytelling.Trained at the village school for the art of speaking, his storytelling interventions in schools will eventually introduce him to the modern storytelling scene and become professional through contact with other storytellers.Today he is the author of several books (see bibliography)
